Senior Year of High School

Senior year. Evidently, it can only be known as the year of change. The year of revelation; discovery of one's self and what he or she believes in. The beginning of an arduous journey towards self-discovery. Alas, there was one event that seemed to kick start that process for everyone. I have no intention to sound conceited, but it seems that on the date of my birthday party, January 24, the pieces started to fall into place. Truthfully, there are so many things that happened at that party that have proceeded to alter everybody's methods of living, or should I say, have awoken the inner voice inside him or her to follow what they have sought out for their entire life. Just live the way you want to. Experience is a valuable commodity. There is no better way to learn than to experience. In no way am I saying that people must throw away all their morals and beliefs; I merely suggest maintaining an open mind towards any situation presented in front of you. Future. Potential. Words that should no less be in our minds, yet must not haunt us. Why not just BE. As Mos Def says, "we live the now for the promise of the infinite". Live your life, everything will fall into place the way it was supposed to.

  1. Interesting dude. I can't say that I agree with your message but I like the theory (especially the fact that your birthday party was a turning point; hell, it preceded the beginning of this blog). Nicely written though.
