Senior Year of High School

Senior year. Evidently, it can only be known as the year of change. The year of revelation; discovery of one's self and what he or she believes in. The beginning of an arduous journey towards self-discovery. Alas, there was one event that seemed to kick start that process for everyone. I have no intention to sound conceited, but it seems that on the date of my birthday party, January 24, the pieces started to fall into place. Truthfully, there are so many things that happened at that party that have proceeded to alter everybody's methods of living, or should I say, have awoken the inner voice inside him or her to follow what they have sought out for their entire life. Just live the way you want to. Experience is a valuable commodity. There is no better way to learn than to experience. In no way am I saying that people must throw away all their morals and beliefs; I merely suggest maintaining an open mind towards any situation presented in front of you. Future. Potential. Words that should no less be in our minds, yet must not haunt us. Why not just BE. As Mos Def says, "we live the now for the promise of the infinite". Live your life, everything will fall into place the way it was supposed to.

One

It's a compilation album by The - legendary - Beatles and, as I was listening to it, I couldn't help but want to draw the simple yet charming artwork.

So I did and I'm proud of it =D.

(Oh and every time I do happen to draw a worthwhile graffiti, should I post it on this blog? Feedback would be great.)

Appeal to Common Sense

I'm pissed off that this entry was deleted. And I worked hard on Common too. Fucking HTML. So here I'll go again I guess.

Common is a terrific artist; he was the one who popularized Mid-West Hip-Hop - the place that spawned recent, well-respected, popular acts such as  Lupe Fiasco, Black Milk, Rhymefest, Atmosphere, Brother Ali and, though declining in a sense, Kanye West and Eminem (I think Detox is gonna suck) - and popularized a soulful, introspective, AND lyricist game. He's an essential artist for any hip-hop head, so if you want to learn more about the fucker then check out these songs or albums:

Lent

Why am I blogging about religion? Simple...marijuana.

Weed, its a beautiful thing except when it gets you in trouble like the time momma dukkes tries to be nice by washing your clothes and finds pipe filters. Prior to this incident...I felt the after effects of the drug as I could mentally feel the physical brain cell count go down. Yes I said it, physical brain cell count..as in the number of brain cells are accountable. I felt like I couldn't lose anymore and after moms was so upset, I just have to follow through with my promise. So that's it..40 days without marijuana..don't try to tempt me because its not happenin. My question is: what are you giving up for lent and why? I learned a lot today during the religion class. What you give up for lent should be something you feel safe with as it limits you to society, experience, and achievements. I guess one of the main themes was endings and new beginnings...in other words, embrace the sacrifice and see that it could take you to new heights. Just some food for thought as you decide what you're willing to give up.
