Montreal Here I Come!

Alright about an hour till the bus heads out, and I just want to say that I'll definetly be posting pics up when I get back..time to put that goddamn SLR to use.

On a side note...

Ordered a lovely jacket from A.P.C., one of my favourite brands, only to find out 4 days later that it was sold out! WTF! They obviously don't update their availability on the site very much..FML! but it's ok, got some extra cash now to drop in montreal.

15 Albums (because 10 won't cut it) I Just CAN'T Live Without

I definitely recommend all these albums for those who haven't heard. After receiving a RECORD PLAYER! from lovely Pamela De la Cruz, I decided to make this list that I've been planning since time. While deciding which albums I could just NOT live without, I asked myself..If I was forced to be sent to an island with only my record player and 15 albums, what would I bring? As I was scrolling through my iTunes, some were obvious choices but some of them I really had to think about. My criteria was based on a) How many songs I actually liked from the album?(had to been more than 80%) b) Do I turn to it when I'm feelin a certain mood? and c) How many plays did I get out of it so far and will the numbers rise?

1. The While Album - The Beatles

2. Fleet Foxes - Fleet Foxes

3. Veckatimest - Grizzly Bear

4. Capital Punishment - Big Pun

5. Reasonable Doubt - Jay-z

6. Quality Control - Jurassic 5

7. Youth Novel - Lykke Li

8. Madvillany - Mf Doom

9. Ready to Die - Notorious B.I.G.

10. Definitely Maybe - Oasis

11. Vampire Weekend -Vampire Weekend

12. Enter the Wu Tang - Wu Tang Clan

13. Pinkerton - Weezer

14. The Marshall Mathers LP - Eminem

15. Game Theory - The Roots

Can I Kick It?

Whether the question is posed by A Tribe Called Quest or Jay-Z on 22 2's, my well-being requires an answer to the not-so-rhetorical - and fast. On first thought, the answer should be a resounding "yes you can", yet even still the question lingers throughout my thoughts. Can I kick it, referring to the nasty inconsistencies of my personal effort and pursuit of success. The lack of requisite desire to strive for excellence with every opportunity presented right in front of me. Potential is something intangible, to be attained - not yet already attained. Too often, the dreaded "P" word is squandered. I do not aspire to be the next Darko Milicic, Ryan Leaf, or Alexandre Daigle. No, there is light at the end of the tunnel for me - greatness even. There is no need for humbleness now. Instead, recognition is essential. The recognition that though currently enigmatic, struggling to discover consistency, there is a star beneath.
So, can I kick the inconsistencies? Yes I Can, & I will.

Knock You Down.

Tell me now can I make it past my Caspers? I lied in that November 21 post, didn't I? I have to say, reciting something behind a laptop screen on a personal blog is much easier than making sure it comes to fruition. How was I to expect myself to get over you so quickly? A robot I am not, I cannot just rewire my emotions. Otherwise, it would have been rather simple to avoid that pretty little missile that shot me out the sky. Boy, did she knock me down. I'm in the process of getting up, but what's next? For my best friends, it was 808s therapy or Dominican paradise. Dominican is out of the realm of monetary possibility and I doubt that 808s alone would be sufficient for me. It is a fundamental fact: When I fall, it all falls down. I mean, rather than reach a safe distance for that apple in the middle of the tree, I tend to reach for the top - the cream of the crop, the apple of my eye. Therefore, I'll have to flip the script a bit. Instead, I'll be the Man On The Moon listening to my 808s machine. Talk about having to carry the burden of a heavy heart. Alas, a long journey awaits. The Pursuit of Happiness is what I'll call it.
